I purchased this printer last month after shopping around for several weeks. The retail stores had it priced at $399, but I was able to find it here on Amazon for only $299 + shipping, brand new! I am completely pleased with my purchase. The only thing that might have made it better is if it would have been packaged better for shipping. It arrived in the original store carton which was fairly beat up by the time it arrived at my doorstep. Thankfully the printer was not damaged. Overall I would recommend this product.

I own a small business that has experienced a lot of growth in the past several months. We print a lot of brochures and labels. We had used a $100 all-in-one Dell ink jet for years and probably made at least 70,000 copies and that printer just printed and printed and printed. Sometimes it would try to feed 20 pages at once, which was annoying, but a small price to pay for how reliable it was.

We needed better prints that were waterproof and also it got to where we were spending about $200 a month on ink (the printer started to wear out also). I felt like we were kinda throwing money out the window on ink. That was until we decided to go laser with this all-in-one Samsung. I never realized what it was really like to waste money on prints until we bought the “Samsung CLX-3175″. About 4 times as much. From $200 a month to $800 or about $0.12 to $0.50 a color copy. We printed about 75 copies a day for little over 2 months and then the machine notified me that I needed to replace the “Imaging Unit”. I had no idea what this meant so I called Samsung. They said the imaging unit was a “consumable product” that was not covered by warranty even after only 2 months of use. They said the imaging unit or “drum” was only good for 24,000 copies. Well we had made about 5,200. They said that they calculate the amount of copies by considering 1 copy is actually 4, so the 6,000 copies actually means 24,000 to Samsung. I am sure that you can start applying the word “lie” at some point. They also said that they would replace the drum if you only made less than half of the expected copies which means 3,000 copies in real life and 12,000 in the Samsung world. A new drum costs $200+. Almost as much as the whole printer. Thanks to God Office Max took that printer back and I didn’t get stuck with it. We traded it for a Brother, which is a little more expensive, but hopefully it won’t guzzle toner like the Samsung. I will never buy another Samsung product and they will never get another penny from me. I had a Samsung cell phone that worse than a Walkie-Talkie. That should have been enough to deter me from buying a Samsung printer. I would give it 2 stars because the scanner worked well and I don’t know how it compares to other laser printers yet but I want to drive down the average rating so I am giving 1 star.

  3. I was a bit leary about buying a printer from Samsung. But this printer has been great. It was incredibly easy to connect to my wireless network. The scanning and copying are more than adequate for home office use and the print quality is great for the cost.

  4. Printer broke after 8 months, and after 4 months it still has not been repaired. Samsung has not followed through with anything. Very poor customer service from Samsung. Wouldn’t recommend any Samsung product because of the very poor customer service.

  5. I have owned this printer for just under a month, so I cannot speak to toner usage or reliability. That said, my initial experience has been fabulous. The printer is inexpensive. I purchased mine on sale for under $200. Ease of set up was remarkable given that I use Mac OS 10.6, and nothing is ever easy when dealing with PC peripherals. In any event, the printer worked the first time with the software in the box, no problems whatsoever. Print quality for documents is excellent. Faxes load smoothly, and scanning to a Mac is a breeze. I previously had a Brother MFC and the fax feed worked poorly, and forget about scanning. I could never get the scan function to work with the Mac OS. For the price, this is really an outstanding printer.
