The flatbed copier lets the kids copy all kinds of things for school projects that you can’t put into a feeder. You are able to select black and white or color.

We have had this machine for four years now and it is still doing it’s job without a problem. Being able to select black and white or color is a definite advantage that saves money on not having to buy as many of the more expensive color cartridges.

As with the other HP printers that we own, this has been an excellent one. HP website support is excellent and downloading drivers is extremely easy.

Since this product has now been discontinued, I would recommend considering other HP products.

Overall, I have not had much trouble with this device. Although, it tends to stop scanning when you send it to a program. In addition, the system tends to delay for printing pictures. The copier is not that great, the pic quality is nothing exciting. The major problem is that if you are to upgrade to Windows XP, the system is not formatted to work with the operating system. Thus, leaving you with one small problem, forget the upgrade, or buy a new printer.

I agree with the other reviewer here about the Mac performace of the HP PSC750xi, it stinks! The computer would get stuck at 17% of the print job. Communication over the USB port is probably at fault. Now the computer will not restart unless you use the restart button.

    Stay away from this stinker.

There is one basic compatiblity problem with the mac driver software for this printer, hp has known about for AT LEAST 3 years and has never bothered to fix it.

The basic Macintosh problem is the sleep mode for the printer is NOT compatible with hp own driver software. If the printer ever goes to sleep, you need to “reset” the printer by “reinstalling” the driver software. The printer must ALWAYS be on and awake whenever you mac is on (even if it is in sleep mode). If you use this printer with a Macintosh it will work fine but you MUST implement the following 2 steps.

    1) Set the printer’s default sleep mode to “Never”.

    2) Write yourself an applescript to automatically “re-install” the driver software and include this applescript in your “Startup items” folder in your system folder. While this second step is not neccessary if you are very very careful about disabling the sleep mode and the order you power-up, it is much easier just to include it. It can run just fine as a background task in finder and boot-up is NOT slower (since in run in background after boot).

  5. Excellent printer, though difficult to use with Windows XP. Can use though not with enclosed software. Excellent scanning, printing otherwise. Would recommend.
