I bought this printer on a whim because it was on sale for a good price; I sure got what I paid for! I set it up according to the manual. When I inserted the software into my disk drive there was no icon for it. I tried to eject the disk, but to no avail. I have a Powerbook G4 that is just over a year old. It has never had any problems, especially not any with the optical drive. I took my computer to Apple, and their resident ‘Genius’ was not able to detect the disk. He said that I will have to check it in for a week at their store for the base price of $150…more than I paid for the printer itself!!!

I called HP to ask for their advice and they denied all responsibility and refused to help. They did offer to send a replacement disk, but that is useless to me as I have the old one STUCK IN MY DRIVE. I think it is very inconsiderate for a multi-billion dollar corporation to produce faulty software and then leave this starving student to spend more time and money than I can afford trying to fix the havoc it has wreaked on my laptop. I will never EVER purchase anything from HP again. I should have just bought the Canon Bubblejet i80.

  2. How can they sell a computer and not include all parts needed to make it work — where is the USB printer cable! It’s late – stores are closed – and I’m stuck with a worthless piece of plastic next to my computer and documents I need to print. Give me a break HP! I guess the price of the printer is really $20 (for cable) more than advertised. Be aware!

unless you have a really new computer don’t buy this. I experienced multiple issues with a 2 yr old Dell, requiring BIOS upgrades, window installer upgrades, and problems that tech support could not resolve. What a waste of time for a machine that is low end. Don’t buy it.

This was a nice product, until it stopped working, just after the warranty ran out, of course. It stopped reading the black ink cartridge, and it doesn’t print at all without it.

I purchased this all-in-one machine today. It works great w/printing, copying, and scanning. My scanned pictures turned out clear and rich in color.
