I bought this garbage thinking that I was getting a good multi-tasking machine, boy was I wrong. After using this for a few days (less than a week) it wouldn’t print because the ink cartridge had dried out. After replacing the cartridge ($27.00) I got a few more days of use before that cartridge dried out too. I actually replaced the cartridge on this maching 5 times in 6 months and I only use this maybe twice a week (printing directions, etc.). The printer is very noisy, almost sounds as if it’s broken when scanning and printing. Stay away from this garbage, I’ve had better print jobs with those $19.00 printers that only print!!!

Well like may Graphic Artist I wanted to produce layout s in large

format. I have always heard how good HP was and how easy it was to use so I figured that me next printer should be the king of printers.

I can’t tell you how upsetting this piece of crap is.

It is so picky that you need to load the paper just the right way for it to grip it and if you don’t it will keep kicking it back out to you over and over again. I must have done this 8 times before I just wanted to beat the living hell out of it. Oh but it gets better, this thing is so stupid that it does NOT calibrate the colors on its own. It takes you to a website and you have to have HP do it for you. It still didn’t print sharp. And get this I try to call their customer service for support and they charge .69 min. Where do these jerks selling crappy printers get off charging for customer service????

My god save your money and just print your stuff at Kinko’s or a small needing printing company.

HP is a crap brand!

The software for this printer does NOT work with Vista. Even when you download the Vista drivers from the website, it still won’t work. To top it off, their customer support directed me to install a clean patch for the second attempt at reinstalling this, and the patch corrupted the driver on my DVD drive! That’s another thing, their tech support is very bad. They just kept redirecting me to the same steps without really taking the time to assess the problems I detailed in my emails to them. Finally just bought a new printer.

P.S. It never could print photos satisfactorily. Everything came out darker, even after the troubleshooting steps were taken.

O.K. so compared to other plotters/ printers that I've looked at, worked with, or owned, this is the one that i would recommend. On a budget compared to pricier ones go buy it because it just works.

We plot drawings, banners, from letter size sheet to wide formats to resting a rool behinh it and just plot a 24" by 72 banner. ALL-in-all it just as i said USEful as opposed to USEless

Pro -If you only need a print to go (large format that is)... get this , not bad DPI either
Con -THE PAPER FRONT LOAD is ANNNNNOOOOOYING!!!

*and go... beeeeeep...
*no try again and now... beeeeeeeeeep
*flip the paper and then... beeeeeeeeep
*use a different sheet... beeeeeep!!!
beeeeeep!!!! beeeeeeeeep.... aaaahhhhhrrrrr!!!

I have it on a table at the office but i would recommend the HP Designjet 110/120/130 Bin & Printer Stand (ALTHOUGH AMAZON DON"T SEEM TO STOCK THIS).

Have bought 1, and been given 2 of these “inexpensive” printers.

The scanning of pictures works great.

The printer prints fine, but yes it has issues.

The ink does go quickly, and the paper does have

a problem with the feeder. If you have the patience,

just give it some help and it will work fine.

On the ink refill issue, I take it to a place

that does it for me. Overall, not a bad deal.

I’ve had this printer (with attached roll feeder) since Nov 07 and it has caused no problems for me. Since then I have printed around 175 or so large format colour images. Setup was a breeze, no problems with the changeover from XP to Vista, and all in all a great machine.

I’ve had this printer for some years! When I used it on my old Dell with Windows XP, it work fine except that the ink dries out too quickly. They cost a fortune to replace. They are impossible to refill, but however, if you take them to Walgreens and have the refill them, then you can save a few dollars. However, if the sponge inside the cartridges are dried out, then refilling them are impossible.

Secondly, once I got my new pc with Windows Vista, the printer drivers want install and the pc isn’t recognized thru Vista unless you unplug th USB cord or unplug the power cord and then reconnects it. I’m looking for a new printer now. The new drivers from http://www.lexmark.com, don’t solve the problem.

I’ve had this printer for two years and it prints marvelous prints. The problem I have is with HP: they decided to stop making paper for this printer and, instead, told me to go with 3rd parties. A company that doesn’t stand behind their products is one that will not get future business from me.

It will run and print but nearly all of the other features are for WinDoze only.

This printer is absolute crap. Trying to feed a large poster size piece of paper into is, well, forget it. Crap! It is good for an 8 1/2 x 11 test page only.
