Could any one please tell me if this machine does scan to fax??? I have fax program in my XP. There were so many good reviews about this AIO, so it is hard to let go, but I need to use fax at least once a week. I have also considered MP780, but it doesn’t come with the negative slide, thanks.

I’d love to give my new Canon printer a try but I didn’t receive anything in the box but the printer. No documentation, no install discs, no starter paper, no ink and NO POWER CORD. And good luck getting any help from Amazon. Click contact, fill in the fields and wait while I stare at my nice big silver doorstop.

I have not purchased this printer yet. I have a question regarding the auto sheet feeder. Please excuse me if this sounds dumb. If I wanted to scan a 10 page document (such as a contract), I believe I would need to manually place each page on the scanner and scan them one at a time. Does this also mean that I would have 10 separate pdf documents? Or, would it still be one pdf document which is 10 pages in length?

Thanks to anybody who can help answer this question.

Auto sheet feeder: The mp130 and mp760 do NOT have an auto sheet feeder. All 3 of the others do. An auto sheet feeder is very useful when doing a lot of scanning or faxing.

Unless you want to wait over a month for shipping, I would strongly suggest that you buy this at another retailer. I paid $179.99 but AMZN increased back to the $230’s. Don’t believe their BS shipping estimates!!!

I ordered the Canon 760 in May. After several emails and calls to customer service, it was shipped after approx 3 weeks of placing my order. It was upgraded to “standard shipping” which claimed to take 5 to 6 business days. Shipping alone is going to take 3 more weeks because it was mislabeled by the distribution center. Do yourself a favor and buy elsewhere….

  5. This model seems to be a reasonably good, if bulky, printer.

However, my primary reasons for buying this model were the scanning functions, and particularly the film/slide scanning features. The performance is really subpar for this use. Both prints and slides end up blurry in scans, even at the highest resolution (which isn’t very high). I’ve thoroughly cleaned the top surface of the glass, but there seems to be some residue on the bottom side, which I can’t access to clean.

The color accuracy of the scanner is also not good. Slides which have vibrant, exciting color on the light table, produce scanned images which are flat and dull.

Finally, the scanning software (MP Navigator) has a very poor interface and makes scanning large numbers of images more tedious than it needs to be.
