Canon's successor to its popular iP4600 has received glowing reviews, but unlike the European and Australian versions, the USA model of the iP4700 does not offer CD/DVD printing capability.

'Sup with that, Canon???!

I needed a printer to fit in a tight space. I would like to have a printer with more features and possibly higher quality photo printing like some of the higher end Canon printers. Nevertheless, Canon makes a high quality printer even at lower ends of their spectrum.

I was expecting a whole lot less than I got from this printer. I mean, how much SHOULD one expect from a $60 printer, shipping cost included? $60 was the Amazon price for the iP4700 right before Christmas (I see it's back up to $100 now though). Even $100 is a remarkably good deal for a printer this good.

This is the first Canon printer I've ever owned but it won't be the last. This thing prints photographs that are orders of magnitude clearer and with far better color fidelity than my old Epson "photo printer" and it does so in a fraction of the time too. The print speed for "mixed mode" pages (graphics and text combined) is phenomenal. I'm frankly blown away by what I got for my money.

Canon printers have just become my favorite brand and if this printer holds up as well as initial out of the box quality indicates it should, there is no doubt what brand I will buy when the time comes to replace it.

Got this for my wife for Christmas. No more ordering prints for us. We can print our own lab quality photos right at home. This is our first photo printer and we are not disappointed. Extremely satisfied with the purchase. Buy it!

Setup was simple using the instructions provided by Canon. The first prints I made were photographs, and they look like professional prints from a processor. This printer also is quick to print internet pages (text and pictures). This is so far the best printer I have ever had.
