  1. I bought this printer from CompUSA 10/15/07. I installed it on my iMac and it worked fine. When I changed operating system to Leopard I had to re-install the printer software but the printer still worked well both as a photoprinter and a text printer. Then about 11/20/07 the black ink smeared whenever a heavy line or bold type was printed. I performed all the maintenance procedures given in the Pixma iP3500 manual. Test prints of color all looked fine but the black ink test prints had small about of smearing, but when I printed real document the black in smeared. At the time of purchase I bought a CompUSA Printer Express Exchange Replacement Plan and they are sending me a new printer in about two weeks. Not too express. I hope the new one will work longer than this one.

I just had it for a couple weeks. Didn’t really print anything other than just documents since I’m in college. Pretty easy to install and setup. The black print quality seems pretty decent. It also has a cool design. Overall, I like it.

Bought this printer for light home use because it was cheap and fairly small. After printing about 20 pages, it mangled a sheet. I pulled the jammed sheet out per the manual’s instructions (it came out in one piece), but the fault light will not go out no matter what I do. The transport system is completely clear.

I’m kicking myself because I bought an extra set of ink cartridges with the printer, which are now useless. I never had a problem like this with any of my HP printers. Stay away from Canon.

  4. This printer spends too much time warming up….and thinking…..and warming up again after every page……I’d look elsewhere.

Had for about 6 weeks or more and am very happy with my choice. A feature I didn’t think about when I bought it is that when not in use , just pull the paper and it folds up with 2 lids or flaps as solid as a bread box and that keeps dust and my cat from walking all over it.
